Terms of Service

Welcome to "imfine" (hereinafter referred to as "the App" or "Service"). Before using the App, please read and fully understand this agreement carefully. Your actions of registering, logging in, or using the App constitute your binding acceptance of these Terms.

1. Nature of the Service

This App is an assistive communication tool designed to help you verify your daily status. Core features include scheduled check-ins and sending automated email/SMS alerts to your designated emergency contacts if you fail to check in. We solely provide automated software for information transmission. We do NOT provide actual emergency rescue, medical monitoring, professional security, or law enforcement services. We are not a replacement for 911 or other emergency services.

2. Limitation of Liability and "As-Is" Service

Due to the inherent complexities of network environments, carrier delays, third-party email/SMS provider policies, operating system background restrictions, technical failures (including app bugs, database errors, or server outages), or force majeure events, the App cannot, and does not, guarantee a 100% success rate for delivering notifications. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developers, owners, and affiliates of the App shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, death, or emotional distress, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service, undelivered alerts, or delayed information. Under no circumstances should the App be relied upon as your sole means of ensuring personal safety.

3. User Responsibilities & Consent

You must ensure that any emergency contact information you provide (phone numbers, emails) has been explicitly authorized by the respective individuals to receive automated alerts from you via our Service. You bear full legal responsibility for any disputes, carrier charges, or claims arising from unauthorized contact inputs, false information, or your misuse of the Service.

4. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Privacy Policy at any time. Your continued use of the App following any modifications indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.

Privacy Policy

We take your privacy very seriously. Below, we outline exactly what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it in compliance with standard App Store requirements.

1. Data We Collect & How We Use It

  • Account Information: Phone number, email address, or third-party auth tokens (e.g., Apple ID, Google ID). This is strictly used for account creation, login verification, and identifying your profile.
  • Geolocation Data (GPS): We collect your precise device location only when you actively tap the "Check In" button or when background sync occurs to update your safety status. This location data is recorded exclusively to be included in the automated emergency alert sent to your selected contacts, allowing them to know your last known coordinates. We do not sell or track your location for advertising, nor do we continuously track you in the background when not related to the core safety feature.
  • Emergency Contact Details: The names, phone numbers, and email addresses of contacts you manually provide. We do not upload your entire phone address book. The provided contacts are only used to dispatch your safety alerts.

2. Third-Party Sharing

To provide SMS/Voice and Email notification services, we securely transmit necessary data (your alert message, your location, and contact phone numbers/emails) to our authorized third-party communication providers (such as Twilio or Alibaba Cloud). Outside of this required core functionality, we will never sell, rent, or disclose your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored on securely encrypted, isolated cloud servers. You have complete control over your data lifecycle:

  • Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account at any time directly from the "Settings" menu within the App.
  • Data Purge: Once you initiate account deletion, your login identity, user profile, emergency contacts, check-in history, and all associated location data are subjected to a physical overwrite deletion from our active servers, rendering them unrecoverable.

5. Premium Subscription & Auto-Renewal

The "imfine" Pro service provides advanced capabilities such as the Digital Will and expanded emergency contact channels. By subscribing, you agree to the following billing terms:

  • Subscription Cycles: Monthly or Yearly (as specified at the time of purchase).
  • Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID (iTunes Account) at the confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Renewal Billing: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price.
  • Managing Subscriptions: You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your App Store Account Settings after purchase.
